What is Competence Pedagogy

The competition is an area of topics in which a person is aware, has the knowledge and some experience.

A pedagogical competence is a joint result of mastering the contents of teaching, which translates into the student’s ability to apply the knowledge, abilities, and skills learned, in addition to the ways of proceeding in certain life situations to solve theoretical and practical problems.

COMPETITION ELEMENTS

The competition is an integral component derived from the combination of the following elements:

  • Motivational is expressed in the deep interest in a certain type of activity and the presence of personal values in the resolution of a specific task.
  • Objective, related to the ability to establish personal goals, according to their meanings, to make personal plans and projects, to design specific actions and events, providing the achievement of the expected result.
  • Orientation, which contemplates the consideration of the external and internal conditions of the activity.
  • Functional, which involves the use of knowledge, skills, activity methods, information literacy as a basis for the formation of their options for action, decision-making.
  • Control, providing clear and measurable indicators of the activity process and its results, improvement of own actions by the objective.
  • Evaluation, related to the capacity for self-analysis and adequate self-evaluation.

These elements of the overall competition structure are closely interrelated with each other. All components influence the development of other elements.

A person’s knowledge of a certain ability is considered competence. Competence is a certain level in educational training, while aptitude is a quality of an individual necessary to carry out an effective and high-quality activity in a specific field.

The main peculiarity of competence as a pedagogical phenomenon is that it is not about specific knowledge of a subject or abstract operations of general thought, but about abilities and vital skills that are specific and necessary for a person.

COMPETENCY-BASED EDUCATION

The subject of competency-based education is being studied by well-known international organizations such as UNESCO, the Council of Europe, UNICEF, UNDP, the Organization for European Cooperation and Development, and others.

The curricula of many European countries are being modified to provide a framework that allows students to reach certain competencies. However, you need to define a limited set of core competencies. A rough list of key competencies is as follows: learn, think, seek, collaborate, adapt, assume. But there is no single definition and list of core competencies. This is because competencies are the order of society to train its citizens.

THE LEARNING OF EDUCATION AS A BASIC COMPETENCE OF PEDAGOGY

The learning programs are independent personal experiences of training. If a child is capable of independent learning, he is enabled to work autonomously and creatively in the future.

These competencies involve the following:

  • The student identifies the learning objectives and cognitive activity by himself or accepts the objective suggested by the teacher.
  • The student plans his activities.
  • The learner organizes his activities to achieve the goal.
  • The student finds and selects the knowledge and forms necessary to solve the tasks.
  • The student regularly performs actions, techniques, and operations.
  • The learner is aware of his activities and improves them.
  • The student has skills and abilities for self-control and self-evaluation.

Today pedagogical competence has a fundamental role in education since it is intended that the student acquires some basic skills that allow their development. In addition, the competencies are made up of some elements that allow their deployment.
